Alternate Settings: You risk losing track of your centre by allowing your passion for creativity to be diverted into the politics of perceived injustices.
While I agree with you for the most part Alternate Settings..
"Perceived Injustices" can be a broad range of perceptions. We have all been guilty at one time or another of interpreting ' things, statements, rules ' etc in our own way. So what we perceive as' injustice' isn't always the case. Sometimes its not a cut and dry issue or something that can be explained with one rule. And sometimes we are correct in our assessment of a situation....that something is in fact unfair..
That becomes a problem for some of us. Sit quietly and say nothing or try to start a meaningful dialog in the forum that will inadvertently go sour because others will add their own agenda...then the person that tried to clarify a point etc is now the pain in the ass.
I'm not the type of person to sit quiet if I think something is 'unfair'
I try to follow the rules...
I will help anyone that asks for help...if I can, if not, I'll try to find someone to help them.
I too get emails from total strangers here that seem to think I appear to know
' stuff '
They will ask me what they are doing wrong that their work is rejected etc. Sometimes its easy to see why its rejected, other times I don't understand why some work is rejected while other work gets passed.
I tell them to remind themselves that WC is a website.
Do not try to measure your self worth by the standards of a website. Whats ' in' one week is out the next..and doesn't always reflect ones artistic ability.
Anyway...not much I can say to you Noah ( Po') that hasn't already been said. All I know is that I still feel this 'strangeness' that I can't put my finger on...I'm hoping it will pass.
I'm hoping that you will return to making fun of skinnit and that my squiggle will once again be squashed and mutilated and subject to ridicule.
The forum seems a lonely place these days...
