Ok, I'll make it simple. I love some of the icons on this site, but I hate the software needed to use them. I prefer to change them individually, and without having a program running in the background for them to run.

Is there a way I can override the existing default icon for any folder/file type without a third party program? Like finding the default location to where the oridional icon is stored and replace it with the one I want.

Now, how do I find out that origional location in vista? any help would be great. thanks
