I know Dharma had recently put up an article that complained of someone, who with their child, was incredibly annoying during one of her recent trips to the movies. I've also complained about similar situations in the past.
Well, it seems that the Regal theatre chain has heard those complaints and has been trying to do something about it.
According to a news blurb I heard on the radio today, Regal is handing out buzzer type devices to their patrons, or making them available at the seats in the theatres, and those buzzers will page the theatre management or staff so that issues with unruly patrons, noisy patrons, movie pirates, projection or sound problems and more can be resolved without the complaining patron ever having to get out of their seat.
It sounds like a long overdue solution to problems that have plagued movie houses. In order to complain about the clod sitting behind you talking on their phone, or talking back to the screen too loudly or just laughing with a sneer at what are supposed to be tender moments in a film, you had to get up and leave your seat to go seek out a manager or someone to handle the problem. In doing so you missed that much more of the film and lost that much more value. Not any more, at least not in some Regal theatres.
