hide off-screen + autohide = impossible mission!

hi, with older versions of objectdock it was possible to hide the dock off-screen on bottom with autohide-option enabled, so the dock wasnt called up when moving the mouse to the screen border.

i am using objectdock v1.9 with multimonitor support for a monitor and a projector. on the projector i am using objectdock on the upper screen for all playback programs. i want to hide this dock in the bottom with "autohide" option enabled. that was possible in older versions!

So, when first selecting "keep on bottom" in the positioning-properties and then "disable" on "delay for re-show dock", the dock will permanently appears on the screen. When now selecting autohide option after that, the option "keep on bottom" switches automatically to "hide off-screen when not in use", where the "disable" on the "delay for re-show dock" option cannot be enabled anymore...

The problem exists on both docks = primary and secondary. So it wasnt a multimonitor problem.

I have tried all possible ocnfiguration variants (on properties: positioning) to solve this problem. but it is impossible for me.

Any solutions? Thx in advance.

damn it!! I have the same problem and have spent 3 hours trying to find a solution thinking that it can't be the program. who would do that?? make a program update and remove such a vital piece of the program? Well I for one am moving back to the older version. and won't be updating untill this unbelivable error is fixed!
Who in Gods name wants the objectdock to popup everywhere you go in any app you use??
But the best part is the "interaction" tab says: "new and improved!" LOOOOL

P.S. yes I am mad as hell! you would be too if you spent the last 3 hours trying to prove yourself wrong thinking the programmers couldn't possibly do smthing like this!

I'm sorry, but the option to have both "autohide" and "not always on top" is not available in the latest version and we are not currently intending on switching it back. Too many ambiguous sounding options flying around was the problem - the result is the new condensed "interaction" options. They cover all the main modes. I recommend using the "always on bottom" option, which behaves exactly as autohide + not-always-on-top would except for when its not activated is appears on the desktop-level instead of off screen completly. Also I should note, autohide with a disabled "delay to reshow dock" wouldn't serve much purpose, as then the dock would never show at all.

Exellent... well so much for upgrading to the new version. Sorry but my desktop space is too valuable to me too have any toolbar on it all the time. But I guess your software must remain only for those who prefer good looks over functionality. I give up. Instead I'll just stick to desktop icons as the "new and improved" option is basically the same thing. Exept icons use less recources.
P.S. This is the same reason I (and most ppl I know) don't use most customisation software suck as desktopX, cursorXP...etc. It's a great thing to try out but eventualy one figures out that it's more a pain (CPU wise) than it is of use. Objectdock was the only one I liked as it saved valuable desktop space without using too much cpu and without being intrusive. That "charm" is now gone.

I am very unhappy about this. For me it was an very important option in previous versions of OBJECTDOCK and I dont like the fact, that suddenly with the release of a newer version a familiar option disappears. Especially when I paid for it in the past!

On my projector it is simply uncool to have all icons permanently visible when not watching a movie and only viewing the background wallpaper. I simply dont want to see the icons (=autohide) until I really need them! Thats the only reason why I am using ObjectDock and why I paid for it!

In "bottom mode" all icons are permanently visible until I start a fullscreen playback-program. Absolutely not acceptable for me.

So I have enabled my favorite "autohide" option. But here is my biggest problem: when I watching a DVD with Theatertek every time I move the mouse to the upper screen (where the controlbar of Theatertek is) the dock appears too! Very impractical. And thats the only reason, why autohide "in the bottom" is very important for me!

So I will finally switch back to an older/previous version of ObjectDock... I am very disappointed about killing this feature in the newest version.

So... it IS impossible to do in 1.9. I've been trying to figure out how to do that for 2 days now... I posted a thread for help, but no one responded. So, thanks for posting this. I'm also going back to the previous version if it can do that.

I may be missing something here but my dock (v.1.9) is at the top, center and I right clicked on the dock and enabled "autohide" and it performs just like my older version. It disappears when not in use and re-appears with a mouse over.... I didn't see, however, that option from within the properties settings when I opened the program from the objectdock icon. I found it searching the forums. It was here. I 2 would have been one of the ones re-installing my older version if this option wasn't available in v1.9.
