There is not an included shutdown command in v 1.9 +

With OD+ v 1.9 I use the exit windows docklet v1.2...rightclick on docklet...select dock properties and see image?....select change image...the same as for any other icon. You can also choose color & glow effects here. I use 3 of these on a permanent dock, changing icons frequently & would be lost without them.

I have pushed further and resolved the initial issue of icon changes to the shutdown commands.

Neither of the 2 shutdown docklets mentioned here so far would allow me to change the icon. I know where / how to do it, but the image would not update.

It turns out that the icon(s) I want to use must be in the c:\PF\SD\OD\BUNDLED IMAGES directory. These docklets are not able to recognize or use the images if I have them in the \my documents\SD\OD Library.

I do not know if the issue is with the docklets (since they probably pre-date OD 1.9) or OD. I am able to use \my documents\SD\OD Library icons with shortcuts to individual programs, but apparently not docklets.

PapaShex, I am using the same link that you are from wincustomize. I just changed the icons using the internet icon included in the bundled images folder as well as the icons I have in my images folder in the My documents OD folders All of my docklets allow me to change the icons regardless of where the image is stored as well...but just thought of something...I copy my docklets to the

C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\docklets folder. It seemed that some docklets did not work correctly if I left them in the My Documents OD folder only.(I still have copies of the docklets in the My documents folder) Wonder if that is the problem on your system.

Your shutdown app behaves the same way. I can only change image if both app and image are in the "program files" directories. As stated in previous post, still usable but wierd.

PapaShex something may have been...confused in your install...I would suggest first clearing the cache Tutorial HERE.  Do this first in order to delete any saved settings.
Then make sure that you have put all of your images, backgrounds, docklets ect in a safe place.......other than the OD folder in My documents....just place them in a different folder in my documents, or simply rename them ...

Then uninstall OD...use a registry cleaner as well....& make sure the OD folder in My documents is deleted. We want all traces of OD removed completely. *Note that if you installed via Stardock Central...then uninstall this way & make sure to agree to uninstall all skins, images ect.

Now if you do not have it install Stardock Central:Found HERE

Now install OD via SDC (Stardock Central)..Find OD listed under MISC...see if this corrects the issue with OD recognizing the OD folder in My documents.....*Note that if you choose to install the free version, then install the plus...you MUST uninstall the free versions first & should clean the cache as well...same steps as above.

OD plus is a pleasure to use and the flyouts are great, I hope that you will be soon able to enjoy using the program.

Thanks for the cache clearing tips MS. I will keep it in mind but I think that waiting for the next release will be my best bet.

Keep in mind that this situation has occurred on 2 different systems. The OD free is the only SD app on either of them. I am a reg'd WB user but have quit using it long ago for other reasons. It was never installed to either of the systems in question.

The fact that the error is repeated convinces me the issue lies with it, and does not speak well for the software. I don't know how I could have confused both installs by simply running the executable. I'll be back when SD fixes the code and a demo works properly.

PapaShex I do not believe this is a regular occurrence with OD...I would suggest emailing support@stardock.com. I would be interested in any answer you receive

papashex you can also try this, add additional shortcut to your objectdock and put this in "Title: Shutdown"; "Link: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe" (assuming your using WinXP) and in the Arguments tab "-s -t 05" the command -s is for shutdown and the -t 05 is how many seconds it will shutdown your pc.

and for the reboot add a new shortcut again to your objectdock, in the "Title: Reboot or Restart"; "Link: C:\WINDOWS\system32\shutdown.exe"; "Arguments: -r -t 05"

note: don't put the quotes, you can choose what icon you want for the Shutdown/Restart.
