Until someone more advanced comes along, I can tell you that you can use the following to extract an object from the scene in an image editing program:
1 - Create the scene with the object you want to use and render the scene.
2 - Use the 'File > Save Image as' command to save as a '.bmp', '.jpeg', or '.psd'.
3 - With the scene still open, select the object(s) you want to extract, and then go into the 'render options' dialog (in Bryce 5.1, it's the lowest arrow in the left-hand control pane).
4 - In the render options dialog, select 'Object Mask' and then re-render the scene.
5 - Use the 'File > Save Image as' command to save your mask.
6 - Open both files in say Photoshop (or any other layer based editing program) and then copy the mask onto a seperate layer in the full color scene file.
7 - With the full color image layer active, use the selection tools to select the black portion(s) of the mask and then delete the scene parts around the object you want. You should be left with your object(s).
Note - the problem with this is that you still have reflections and perhaps materials left-over that may show in the object. This of course requires some more forethought in the designing of the object(s) in Bryce to allow the intended use in your image editing programs.
Good luck.
