Going in tomorrow morning for surgery.

To all my friends at WC, just wanted to let you know that I will be going in tomorrow morning for double knee surgery, so wish me luck! This past year has not been too kind to me, with all the health problems that I have had, only had the time to release one skin. Terrible! Hopefully things will get better and I can get back to the business at hand, making skins. I am looking forward to everything going well, so I can get back to reading you all on the forums. You all are a part of my extended family.

Sorry, I should have been more specific about what was going on. I went in for an Arthroscopy on both knees, not the replacements. I won't get those for a few months probably, depends on the doctors really. They had to go in and see what damage was done first. And basically I have no cartilage left in either one, and there was severe bone damage as well. They removed all the damage, and scuplted some bone from what they tell me. So if this procedure isn't helpful at all, then its back in for the bionics, LOL.

Thanks for all the support, I really appreciate it a lot! I feel closer to you all, than my own family. Not even a call from any of them, but you all give me the support I need, thanks for that.

And yes the Nurses were great, so were the meds.

Knee replacement? Let me tell you what happened to me on my first post op appointment. I only had Arthroscopy on my left knee and I am 39. OK so I am inching along with my walker(customized of course

) to the waiting area and I take a seat. A few minutes later a man walks toward me. He has a slight limp and is using a cane but moving quite well. To my eyes the man looks to be around 60 or so. We make idle banter, after a little while the man asks "so what you in for?" and I tell him. It is 12 days post op for me. Now I ask him the same. "oh I had knee replacement 17 days ago" (the needle scratches the record at this point).
Say What? Surprised, I asked how old he was, "76 and I feel Great!" I look at my sorry self and my walker thinking what a wus I am and he is looking at me with a big smile, telling me it was the best thing he had done.
Now I know the true meaning of being a Punk

LOL @ elvee! Thanks for relating your experiences with knee surgery. Well at least I am not using crutches or a walker, I am fortunate in that respect.

I went in for an Arthroscopy on both knees,

Mrs starkers has to have an arthroscopy on her left knee and, according to recent x-rays, may be looking at the possibility of re-constructive surgery as the cartilage is practically non-existent and the tendons have become too lax.

One knee is bad enough, but two? I hope if knee replacements do become necessary, that you'll get one done at a time. My grandmother had both knees done at once and found the ability to walk again was prolonged because she didn't have a fully functional leg/knee to better assist in the recovery of the other. Just a thought.
