Ran across an article in the March 26 issue of Computer world. I don't have the link for it though but here's the gist of it. Ever heard of spintronics? according to the article it's the next step in computer language. Everyone knows that computers use binary, ones and zeros, to work. Two states, on and off, the electron is either there or it isn't. Spintronices takes advantage of an electron's spin. Since it spins either left or right in 360 degrees that gives it also two states but...360 degrees in four dimensions. In other words...360 degrees squared x 2 (or is it cubed). 360 x 360 = 129,000 x 2= 358,000 states!Either way...imagine how many different ways to do something really, really fast. Your thoughts?
