If you can restore the default XP logon via LogonStudio, suggest you do so and then uninstall > reboot > reinstall LogonStudio.
Note - I would also recommend removing any leftover 'LogonStudio' folder found in ':\Program Files\WinCustomize' folder before reinstalling.
Note #2 - make sure you are installing the correct version of LogonStudio. There is one for Windows XP and one for Vista.

[Edit] - What they said.
To enter safe mode, you start pressing the 'F8' key during boot until you see the 'Boot Options' screen (which will be a list of options in highlightable text format (DOS prompts).
Select the Safe Mode option and press 'Enter' key > enter your password if you created one (or just press enter at this dialog > say 'Yes' to enter safe mode if prompted.
Note - before restarting to enter safe mode, bring up the system configuration dialog by doing the following:
Start > Run > type: msconfig > press 'Enter' key
In the system configuration utility dialog, click the 'Startup' tab and deselect any listing for 'LogonStudio' > click 'Apply' button and then 'OK' to close the dialog.
Reboot and remember to start pressing 'F8' to get to safe mode. You should now be able to remove the complete 'LogonStudio' folder from ':\Program Files\WinCustomize' folder.
Good luck.
