Bootskin not showing my bootscreen correctly

Hi all,

I have download bootskin and did my own simple boot screen. My images are in 16 color (4 bit) and the preview show it nicely but when I reboot to make the final test the colors are mess up (except for the progression bar).
For example the background is beige instead of black.

I would appreciate a lot if anyone could help me

The screen image and progress bar must use the same 16 color palette.

First color in the palette will be the background color of the progbar.
Export the color palette of your background image,then import it to your progbar.(photoshop sux at this unless you have absolute black as your first color in the palette...sometimes importing a palette borks up your prog image...wish I knew a reliable method for importing palettes without ruining the progbar image...sometimes you just get lucky  )

Erm how do I make to have the same 16 color palette ?

What graphics program are you using.

photoshop sux at this unless you have absolute black as your first color in the palette...sometimes importing a palette borks up your prog image...wish I knew a reliable method for importing palettes without ruining the progbar image...sometimes you just get lucky


Hey IR, this is a snap and works perfectly with Paint Shop Pro X.

My knowledge with those graphics softwares are pretty limited.

Would anyone be kind and like "fix the palette" of both images?

I would appreciate a lot!

Seeing your screen image is only using 3 of the 16 colors you could open it in Photoshop, save the palette, then edit palette to include the 6 colors of the progress bar then apply palette to both images. When editing palette, save it once edited, close images then reopen then apply palette, applying edited palette to image without reopening it will distort colors.

Thanks it works now but only a little glitch left.

I have like a small part (I'd say like 4 pixels of width) of the progression bar that stays in the loading bar. Everything works well except the some pixels that appears oO

Sounds like your prog image is larger than 22x9
