ObjectDock steals chunk of Desktop

I have a newly installed 1.3 version, and it is stealing a chunk of my desktop. One autohiding dock blanks out a little piece of the desktop in the space the dock occupies when it's not hidden. I can't display any windows there, or put any icons there. It only seems to happen AFTER I've made modifications to the dock. The other autohiding dock, on a second monitor, reserves a wide strip of the desktop and blanks it out - it extends about 1/8 of the entire desktop, across the full width of the screen. These problems pretty much make the program unusable, unless I can fix them. Anyone know what I should do?

OK, this only happens when the Z ordering is set to always on top. WHen it's normal Z-ordering, then the little piece of stolen desktop comes back after I click on an open window that's occupying it.

Right-click your dock and select "dock settings". Click "positioning" on the left, and make sure that "reserve edge of screen" isn't checked.

That's the only thing I can think of that would cause the problem you're describing.

Also, I think you'll need to check this for each dock that you have.

Nope, I already tried that setting (unchecking 'reserve edge of screen'). I think there's something wrong with the layers on my desktop, that may possibly have something to do with my video card. Yahoo! widgets aren't working properly, either. Each time I try to click on one to move it the widget crashes (I can still close it and change its properties, but the widget itself freezes and won't be moved). I'm just not sure how to fix this. Aggravating.

I had a similar problem yesterday. Unloading and restarting ObjectDock, took care of it.

Yes, I'm still having the problem, though I've figured out the culprit. It's a program called Actual Title Buttons (from actualtools.com), the latest version (4.2), which as it turns out conflicts with a number of programs - Yahoo Widgets, Eudora, and Objectdock among them. When I stop that program, all the problems go away. I've written to actualtools.com about it.

Tech support made the lame suggestion that I had left that box unchecked, 'reserve screen space' or whatever, which wasn't it (i knew that) and also suggested upgrading to version 1.5 (I had 1.3) which didn't make any difference at all. Still, not their fault that some other program is messing things up. Still, when two programs conflict, it's difficult to tell which programmer of which program is at fault. Could be either, or even both, I suppose.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I am running 4 Docks (two on each of two monitors) plus a tabbed Dock - so 5 in total.
