"I don't recall blaming anyone for my financial situation. I simply stated in so many words that I need a browser with a lighter footprint. Firefox has indeed become bloated. Again - think before you type." |
Oh, come on. You spat "I will not be upgrading to 2.0"... You complain that 1.5 uses too much ram, but you won't upgrade to the most up to date version? Sounds like you are making a statement there to me. If someone said that about Windowblinds you'd be right in the middle of the mob jabbing them.
I have one gig of ram and I use firefox WHILE I play MMORPGs that eat 600megs plus. I use it while I use photoshop and premiere, which creep way up into the hundreds as well. I dunno what you are doing with your machine, but if 60 or even 100 megs is more than you can bear... well, like I say, the problem isn't with the devs.
More likely you did what you accused me of doing, not thinking before I typed. If you have a machine with less than 256 megs of ram running xp, then MAYBE Firefox might be tough, but honestly IE can do as badly depending on the content.
P.S. If you allow, say 128 megs for firefox, that's what? 20 or 30 bucks worth of RAM on a bad day? Have a garage sale, mow a couple of lawns.
