The Boys' first live performance was on Saturday, September 2, 2006. I thought the show was a mess. The stage was bad with so many PI logo hanging all over the place. It didn't look pretty on TV. The show looked very amateurish. The mic's were bad. Please fix the sound system. It didn't sound good on TV. I thought we were the best. What happened? Don't you learn anything from the American Idol show? Theirs is swift like everything is well planned and thought of.
The PI first live show looked like a night club. The band was, as Simon says, "too indulgent." They play too many music and they also copied the theme song of the Idol franchise and it didn't sound good. Please stop it because it made me want to puke. It was like you were in a night club.
The judges also struggled with their comments with the exception of Mr. C, who I thought did a great job. FM and Mamita were sort of making up things to say. It felt awkward. I hope they do better next time. Maybe they should speak with more conviction. I know it's a tough job but I think it's not an excuse. Ryan was no exception either but I guess his was on script and I thought it was bad.
The choreography (whatever you call it) of placing the contestants was a mess too.
When it comes to the boys' first live performance in general, it was okay. Many of them sounded like theater actors. And I thought Reymond's performance was too disneyland-like. You know, very juvenile style of performance. Few of them sounded "pop." Ramirr, Gian, Drae, Ken (although some high notes were barely reached), and christian, I thought, deserved to be in the final 12. Well that's life.
Anyway, I hope ABC5 will improve how the show goes next time.
