If you're mad at gas prices blame CHINA...how DARE they start developing NOW when my 2007 Shelby Cobra GT500 Mustang needs lots of gas. Not to mention my 2 SUVs.

Yeah, I noticed a significant drop down... but I am still paying roughly 4.5€/gallon...
this would be like a bit less than $6 US/g...

But on the other end, to compare this is not fair in a way... cars here are using 2-3 gallons per 100 km, some even less.
I guess it's a lot more on the other side of Atlantic.

Before anyone start bashing Bush, take into consideration other factors like the growth of China. If you want lower gas prices, go bomb china. Then maybe we can kill 2 birds with one stone. Lower Gas prices and get rid of the god damn chinese gold farmers.

not saying that is the only thing it goes for but it is the only tax collected at on gas

I just gassed up for $1.99/gal in Indiana. Instead of $70+ to fill up my truck, it was $50. My twin turbo is still hard on the wallet though since it needs premium.

It could be that your buddy in London giving a lot of taxes might receive more money from the state/crown when he retires than you will... At the end, it balances out... anyway, we are all living in good conditions and should be happy about it

Wrong: he says most of their money goes to "social programs" to suport the millions of people "on the dole", the government cheese (welfare). He is not happy. If the ultra-liberals in the USA had there way,we'd be paying 90% taxes.

Personally I think the price of gas is too LOW. When you consider how useful gas/oil really is, it's tremendously undervalued. It cracks me up when companies start folding because gas prices go up and they whine that energy prices are incredibly expensive. Europe's prices are higher, and their economy isn't in a shambles. You could argue that Europe's geographically smaller, but Canada is pretty big and we pay more for gas too. When your entire economy is based on an undervalued resource, it's a house of cards waiting to collapse when a correction comes along. Too bad there aren't economic resources in the solar system......

As for the whole gas price "crisis" here in the USA... Well, ever hear the song "Dirty Laundry"?

An election coming up soon that will determine who controls the House and the Senate and the falling gas prices....coincidence, most definitely not.


If ever anyone needed proof that maybe, just maybe, the current government does have something do to with the gas prices this is it.

ok, so your contries may not have the right idea. I come from probably the greastest country in the world, it's called Australia and we pay 1.45 for the litre of pertrol and last time i checked Aus.

Um, that's no bargain, Mate! There are 3.78 litres in one US gallon. So you are paying the equivilant of $5.481 PER GALLON! We're paying about $2.50 right now.
