I just installed my new video card, and I can see improvements everywhere, most noticable Windows Vista's Aero Glass, Windows Media Player, WindowFX, and WindowBlinds.
The fact is: Even upgrading just a family (Nvidia GeForce 5200 to 6200) makes a HUGE difference! |
I'm looking to upgrade my 64meg Nvidia GeForce 6200 card up to a 256meg Radeon 9600 to better utilise the features of WB5, WindowFX and Aero. At present I'm getting the occasional paint, redraw issue when my current card has more workload placed on it. It can draw on RAM to run at 256meg, and can display Aero in Vista okay, but I'm looking at a 256meg PCI-E card that can draw from RAM up to 512megs to run more efficiently in more graphics intensive situations.
cos I got it cheap....[the card, not the wife].. |
Aha, got mine for nothing...the wife, that is, not the card. Trouble is, she has cost me a bucket load of money ever since.

Still, wouldn't be without her, though.
