How do I reserve screen space for ObjectDock Free?

So maximized windows won't cover it.

The above page states "Docks can now reserve the edge of a screen so that windows cannot cover them."

The Windows Taskbar prevents other windows from overlapping it (sharing same screen space). Does the above statement mean the same thing, or is it just talking about the Always on Top setting?

If this feature does exist, is it a Plus-only feature? I can't seem to find the setting in the Free version.

It's a tabbed dock only feature I think . . .which makes it Plus only.

It very much worth the cost.

Would that mean that the tabs would always be visible, but I'd have to click the tabs to see the docks?

reserving space is not the same as always on top.
if the dock is at the bottome, always on top make the window go behind it when it maximizes. reserving space causes the window to stop short.

coyotewrw, here is a tabbed dock, screen edge reserved, showing dock closed and tab opened.

When not in use dock will be closed.

Awesome, that's what I'm looking for! Two questions:

1. Is this feature available in the Free version? If so, where is it located?

2. Can I apply this feature to a dock directly, without using tabs? Single-click access to my most-used apps is what I'm aiming for.

It is not available in the free version The reseved space is only applicable to the tabbed docks and the tabbed docks are not available in the free version.

You can however, use a "normal" dock set to "always on top" and have one click access to running tasks or applications that you choose to be displayed (shortcuts).

Though not available in the free version, you can work around it.

If you set your taskbar to always be on top, windows will stop at it. Raise the taskbar to the height you want to 'reserve' then use the 'hide the taskbar' option in OD free. Place your free OD in the space now 'reserved', adjust the min/max size on OD and Bob's your uncle.

Thanks, but I've decided to use Hawkeye ShellInit to create a left "margin" area for OD.

Hawkeye does a good job, but sometimes a program wil kill its settings, then you have to reapply them. Rare occurance, tho.
