Hello folks -
It seems that roughly once a day, my skin (using Arrow) will go
into a black state for both the taskbar and tray completely in
what appears to be a random time. Below is a sample snapshot I
took of normal and abnormal condition WB5 goes into.
According to Stardock Central, I am using WB 5.01f.

*bump*
I got nothing. Due to some forum changes, just bumping this up.
Did it do it with earlier versions of WB?

I have a LEGAL copy of Windowblinds and YES mine is doing the same thing in the taskbar. It turns black, usually after a standby reboot. Any help on this would be...well...helpful.

I seem to recall (from another post) that there were some new problems in the latest build with integrated video cards. I notice that you have such a card dbMorris.
Do you also have an integrated Intel video card Mark?

Thanks Zubaz -
Yes, I use an HP Pavilion laptop for my workhorse web and graphic design work, and the graphics are pretty good for the machine.
To your question of earlier version ... i think I have always been using WB5. Is there a particular version you would like me to test with. If so, would I be able to continue use of the current skin I prefer?
Does the skin itself have anything to do with the blackout or is it the WindowBlinds kernel code itself at issue such that any skin would cause this.
I look forward to resolving this rather annoying condition,

I do not believe it is skin specific. I don't have any details. Sorry.
Do you have SDC set to auto-archive? Do a restore if you do to the last version you have. [File | Restore Archive . . choose last version]
If that resolves the issue, send an email to support@stardock.com with your sys info so they can look at a fix.

Zubaz:
I did as recommended with my auto-archive now rolled back to WB 5.01d[b].008. I will let you know if any change occurs with the blackouts.

Zubaz, others:
I was just in the middle of typing a WORD document when the screen immediately
switched to the blacked out WB forcing me to refresh using WB5 interface.
It appears rolling back to prior version of WB5 did not solve the issue.

Did you have a screensaver cutting in at that point?
It sounds like the copies of the WB bitmaps in ram are being damaged by something.

No, I don't think the screensaver would have triggered since I was actively doing some WORD document editing at the time. I agree though that it's sounding like a process conflict happening between the Video (or not?) RAM used by WB5 and something else?
By the way ... I reverted further now with my version of WB5 to be the official 5.01.006 version rather than any of the newer experimental builds. Let's see how long it will be, before the taskbar and tray decide to go black again .
