I'll comment a bit.
I would agree to some extent that the track record has shown some projects to be long in the showing after the initial notification.
I tend to think of the announcements as a "FYI", or "For Your Information" within a community instead of a concrete promise.
I know that Stardock wants to complete the projects, but there are fewer staff members available than the announcements might lead the public to believe. There are always the unforeseen problems that occur during all projects, and I think the the game sector has presented Stardock with a huge opportunity and therefore in the simple need for survival in a very competitive market (that being the computer software industry), Brad and crew have alloted much of the time and effort of the staff towards that end.
From what I have seen, the other projects seem to be slated for completion, but with the added issues of WinCustomize site management, and development of Vista compatible versions of their point programs (WindowBlinds, IconPackager, DesktopX, CursorXP, and ObjectDock) the other projects may have - unfortunately - fallen behind.
I am sure that Brad feels some of the same frustration that we do when a great idea takes longer than planned to come to fruition.
My point, you ask?
Perhaps thinking of the announcements on this site as simple community discussions and "FYI's" would allow us to use a perspective that is less time sensitive, and more open to changes in planning - at least until the announcement is made on "Stardock.com".
