If someone wants to find the dock backgrounds only, it's as simple as clicking a drop-down menu and selecting them, or clicking a few pages beyond the first.
No offense ID or anyone else for that matter....but I'm really tired of hearing that. Nothing is that simple since very few people...ones who have been here for years... even know of that option...and you expect the casual user to know that?
But its not a problem for me anymore...I've dealt with it...like I've said...I've surrendered the Object"Dock" library to the icon/pngs...you can have it...its yours...and my docks will be on my personal pages for anyone thats wants them...unless of course I'm banned or something for doing this now. No arguing...no whining...its done...I'm moving them now. But someone should probably take my docks down off the ObjectDock site and put up some pngs since it might start to confuse people when all they see in the Object"Dock" library are mostly if not all icons/pngs...since I don't think I'm the only one fed up with it...I guess we'll see.
And again...no offense...but for people that "seem" to have the patented answers for everything I find it hard to understand that for whatever reason no one understands where I'm coming from in regards to that library being messed up. Yes....I understand that icons have to be converted to png format to be used "with" Object"Dock"...which is no different than saying you have to convert pngs to icons to be used "with" Windowblinds or any of the other applications that utilize these formats...but you don't see them flooding the Windowblinds library or the others do you? Why? Because "most people" understand that icons and pngs are a "separate" thing from the actual applications of WindowBlinds and Objectdock and others...and icons already have the IconPackager & Misc Icons libraries for that.
Maybe I should start uploading docks there since after all they are used with Object"Dock"...ya think? I mean really...it should work both ways if thats the case. No...don't worry...I don't plan on doing that. But according to this current line of thinking I should be able to.
Since it takes a whole 2 seconds...no exaggeration...for anyone...its not rocket science (anyone that can turn on a pc can do it)...to convert an icon to a png...icon creators should be...like most everywhere else I find icons on the net...just be adding the pngs to their icon folders...upload them together and be done with it. But no....they have to convert them and upload them in droves...themes being uploaded one at a time..but all at the same time... rather than packaged even...to the Object"Dock" library...since one library for them is obviously not enough. And I'm not blaming the icon creators for this since no ones told them not to do it.
So...in all the years now of creating these "docks" for Object"dock" there has really only ever been one gripe and request I've had...for docks to have they're own library...just one...not three...not two...just one...but that obviously is not going to happen. And I've created over 290 sets of these things...not "just" for fun...but to support and promote ObjectDock because I like it so much...but when I go to the library what do I see the most of? And its depressing watching your hard work disappear under tons of stuff thats really unrelated to ObjectDock directly.
Sorry....but I really don't get it. So I just decided it was time to just move them out of there and be done with it. And yeah I know...nothing stays on the first page for very long...I get that to...again...not rocket science here...and I've been here long enough to see that. But when over half of the stuff I've created isn't even seen much less downloaded...whats difference does it make if they are there or on my personal page/gallery. And its not like they become obsolete or unusable like older WindowBlind skins...they're as fresh as the day they were made. So...why not just leave them there? If you have to ask you won't understand the answer. So just make something up that works for you.
So...if or when anyone ever gets really serious about promoting Object"Dock"...I'll be more than happy to move them to a library that is doing that...but for now there isn't one.
But in the end...I also get that its not my website...its some sort of community...haven't quite figured that one out yet though...but most of the people I've encountered here are great...made some new friends...created some great docks.
Maybe I should just fade away now like some old Dockstar!
